Tracey Smith, a citizen of the world holding a British passport, has been a full-time teacher and teacher leader for over 22 years. Tracey received her BSc. in Biology from Staffordshire University before earning a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from Keele University in the UK. Tracey has also earned a MSc. in Education from SUNY Buffalo, NY. She started teaching secondary school science in the UK in 1998 and then began her career in international education two years later in Geneva, Switzerland. Tracey has since taught in UAE, USA, Costa Rica, Brazil, Belgium and is now back in Switzerland. Tracey is currently Head of Grade 7 and teacher of science and design at the International School of Zug and Luzern. As a believer in personalized learning, Tracey aspires to help each child reach their individual potential by providing voice and choice in the classroom. She is passionate about organizing professional development drawing on the strength of the teachers themselves to foster the growth of the school from within. Tracey believes that the heart of all education starts with the social and emotional well-being of the students and teachers and strives to create an environment where all can thrive and grow. When she is not working, Tracey enjoys traveling and sampling international cuisine.
