Sarah Davenport calls Lafayette, Louisiana home, though she’s been a resident of the Tex-Mex loving, bluebonnet blooming, hardwood line dancing capital of the world, Houston, for over ten years. She began her college career as a public relations major at Louisiana State University. However, upon receiving an assignment to write a story on political rhetoric, she started to fondly remember her days of “playing school” as a child, and ran as fast as she could to the College of Education building where she was later named student government President and earned her B.S. and M.Ed. Sarah’s teaching experience has primarily been in Lower and Middle School classrooms, was formerly a Dean of Middle and Upper School, and is currently the Director of Admissions at The Regis School of the Sacred Heart in Houston. The move into an enrollment management position meant that she would be able to observe the effects of leading and learning through the lenses of multiple school constituents. In addition to her current role, attending programs/workshops through Columbia University’s Teachers College, ISM and Enrollment Management Association conferences, have contributed to her being excited about the next phase of education. When she is not working her day job, she can be found pondering “what’s next,” both personally and professionally. She lives for change. And, boiled crawfish. And, music. And, pretty spaces.
